Hydration

Yes. Lama Hydrate is designed to be consumed daily. The electrolyte ratio is intentionally potassium led and lower in sodium to achieve inter cellular hydration, without excess sodium load. Sports hydration drinks that are high in sodium (up to 1000mg) are designed for rehydration after heavy sweat loss. It also contains creatine, which works best when taken consistently over time, making daily use ideal.

Most people enjoy one serve per day, though up to three serves daily sits comfortably within the intended levels of all key ingredients.

Dehydration isn't always obvious. As we age, our thirst signals naturally become less sensitive, so you're likely to already be mildly dehydrated before you actually feel thirst. Hormonal changes through midlife can also influence fluid balance, body temperature and electrolyte needs, which often increase the need for daily hydration.

Common signs include persistent fatigue, headaches, brain fog, dry skin, irritability, muscle craps, or that feeling of 'flatness'. Darker urine or needing very large amounts of water to feel satisfied are more clear signs.

For many busy women over 40, consistent hydration throughout the day works better than waiting for thirst to kick in. Keeping a water bottle nearby and sipping regularly is a simple habit that makes it easier to stay on top of your intake.

Water is the base foundation for hydration. Proper hydration is not just a volume game. It's also about how well your body can absorb and retain that fluid. That's where electrolytes come in.

The electrolyte blend in Lama Hydrate helps move water into your cells. The potassium led formula supports fluid balance without relying on large amounts of sodium, making it suited to daily wellbeing rather than just intense exercise.

It also contains creatine and key nutrients. Ingredients proven to support cellular energy and cognitive function. Benefits water alone does not provide to the same extent.

Creatine takes hydration a step further by helping draw water into muscle and brain cells, supporting energy production, muscle function and cognitive performance, when taken consistently over time.

Australian guidelines for women are 2.8L of water daily. Food accounts for 20-30% of this total, leaving around 2L of water in liquid form.

Many people notice the effects of improved hydration quickly - often within 30-45 minutes of drinking an electrolyte solution. This can show up as clearer thinking, improved energy, or simply feeling more refreshed as fluid balance begins to normalise.

The benefits linked to creatine build more gradually. Creatine works by increasing stores within muscle and brain tissue, and this happens through consistent daily intake rather than a single, or occasional serve. When taken daily at a minimum of 2g (one serve of Lama Hydrate), creatine levels typically reach full tissue saturation in around 3-4 weeks, with benefits continuing to build over time. Consistency matters more than timing.

Daily use allows both hydration status and creatine stores to compound.

Most hydration powders were originally designed for sport, focused on replacing sweat losses during intense exercise. Lama Hydrate was formulated differently, with the needs of everyday life and women in midlife in mind. We are notoriously not getting close to 2L of water (this is beyond the amount we get through food), and it's showing up in fatigue, brain fog, memory challenges, dry skin and irritability.

The electrolyte blend is potassium led with moderate sodium, supporting daily hydration rather than relying on the very high sodium levels common in sports drinks. It’s designed to help you stay consistently hydrated throughout the day, not just recover after a workout.

Lama Hydrate also goes beyond electrolytes alone. Each serve includes creatine and targeted nutrients chosen to support cellular energy production, cognitive function and muscle health. Areas that become increasingly important as we move through our 40s and beyond.

It’s also free from added sugar and lightly sweetened with thaumatin, a plant-derived protein that provides a clean sweetness without the gut discomfort or aftertaste often associated with artificial sweeteners.

You'll also be hard pressed finding a hydration powder with the same ingredients that tastes as good. The flavours are light, juicy and delicious.

It can either replace or be taken with straight creatine monohydrate. It's up to you.

We have designed this product to be taken alone for up to 6g per day of creatine (3 serves of Hydrate per day), or taken alongside an existing creatine supplement. Many women add a few additional grams of creatine monohydrate to their Lama Hydrate drink to hit their daily creatine target in one go. Each serve of Lama Hydrate is 2g. Top up your creatine, or drink as is. Taking 2 - 5g of creatine daily consistently is better than larger doses every now and again.

Sports hydration drinks and powdered blends are formulated mainly for athletes, replacing large amounts of sodium lost through heavy sweat during training or endurance events. In those contexts, higher sodium levels make sense.

Lama Hydrate is designed for everyday hydration instead. The vast majority of women, in particular those raised in a generation void of water bottles, are no where near consuming enough water daily. Lama Hydrate has been created to help women address this deficit, with a delicious and good for you addition to water to make it more palatable.

Our formula is intentionally potassium-led with moderate sodium to support fluid balance at a cellular level without the high sodium load that can put strain on the kidneys. Potassium plays an important role in helping regulate fluid inside cells, while sodium supports fluid balance outside them.

Lama Hydrate is lightly sweetened with thaumatin - a naturally occurring plant protein extracted from the katemfe fruit, native to West Africa.

Thaumatin provides a clean, gentle sweetness without adding sugar or impact blood glucose levels. It's well tolerated by the gut, and avoids the aftertaste often associated with artificial sweeteners or stevia.

You will notice the sweetness arrives slightly later on the palate. This is a natural characteristic of thaumatin that helps create a smooth, balanced flavour, rather than a sickly sweet drink.

Added sugar isn’t required for everyday hydration. While glucose is used in medical oral rehydration solutions designed for severe dehydration caused by illness, daily hydration formulas effectively support hydration without added sugar.
